GOLF CART REGULATIONS
ATTENTION PARENTS!!!
As the warmer weather months usually result in an increase in outdoor activity, we would like to remind everyone of the Golf Cart Laws that must be obeyed.
South Carolina Law (56-2-105) requires that all persons who operate golf carts to have the following:
- * A valid SC Driver’s license
- * Registration Certificate
- * Proof of liability insurance
There have been recent situations where children were operating these vehicles in a fast and uncontrolled manner with loud, blasting music. We ask that parents please restrict the use of driving a golf cart to only those who qualify to do so, and those who are legally allowed to operate one to please be respectful of others in the neighborhood. All families with children and golf carts should remember the specific laws that govern anyone under the legal driving age.
With school beginning soon, the amount of traffic through the neighborhood is only going to increase in the afternoons. If you are a golf cart-owning parent within the community, please help us maintain neighborhood safety.

ENDANGERING WILDLIFE WITHIN HUNTERS CREEK
It has recently been brought to our office’s attention of a situation involving the hunting of wildlife within the Hunters Creek neighborhood. A duck was recently shot with a bow & arrow, and was left with the arrow left inside of the animal, where it remained alive for some time after. We will remind you of the following provisions established by Greenwood County:
(a)It shall be unlawful for any person to commit any of the following acts on any property owned by, leased to, or under the control of the county without written consent of the county manager:
(2) Killing, harming or harassing any mammal, bird, reptile or amphibian.
(3) Hunting in any area.
(b) Penalties. Any person violating the provisions of this section shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction shall be fined in such amount or imprisoned for such time as is within the penalty jurisdiction of magistrates’ courts. In addition to or in lieu of arrest, any person violating the provisions of this section may be ejected from the premises and shall not be entitled to a refund of any admission fee
Hunters Creek is a special tax district, and is considered under the County’s jurisdiction for these types of matters. So in accordance with the County’s established provisions, endangering any animal’s well-being within the community is unlawful, and punishable in a court of law. We ask those who witness any type of detrimental behavior towards the wildlife in our community to please contact the Greenwood County Sheriff’s department and report such act. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation with this matter.
LOST WEDDING BAND
Please be on the look-out for a wedding band that was lost last week. It is a White Gold band with the inscription of October 5, 2013 engraved on the inside of the ring. It was lost somewhere between 401-413 Hunters Creek Boulevard. If found, please contact Dan English (108 Culbertson Court) at 864-554-4297. We appreciate your help with this matter.
LOST DOG
There is a lost dog that is being kept at 129 Tally Ho. If this is yours, or you know who it belongs to, please contact the owners on Tally Ho to pick it up. Thank you.
LEASH LAW REMINDER
We have received numerous calls regarding pets roaming freely throughout the neighborhood. Please remember that there are Greenwood and Abbeville County leash laws that prohibit any domesticated animal from being off its property without a leash attached to an owner. Refer to the “Pet Leash Regulations” tab to the right of the page if you should have any further questions.
